About Ubuntu Trips
Frequently Asked Questions
How do group trips work? The trips are in small groups and follow a responsible tourism model. We prioritize local accommodation, authentic experiences and activities that contribute to the development and well-being of communities. Each trip has an itinerary with all planned activities, and the remaining time will be free for personal exploration.
Are the trips only in groups? Mostly yes, however, we are exploring a more flexible model, and occasionally we will offer travel packages for solo travelers, families, or friends.
Who can participate? The project is designed for adults, but there is no age limit. All you need is a spirit of adventure and a love for trave.
How can I book? Simply get in touch and request a booking. You will receive all the details and instructions on how to confirm your reservation.
What is the group size? A minimum of 6 people and maximum of 12.
Do trips include transportation and accommodation? What is included may vary, but yes, the trips include accommodations, internal transportations, activities/tours, and sometimes meals.
Do I need to arrange Passport, Visa or Vaccinations for the trip? It depends on the destination. Whenever necessary, we inform participants about passport, visa and mandatory vaccination requirements. Each traveler is responsible for their own documentation but you can count on us for assistence and guidance whenever needed.
Do we have support? Yes. From the first contact until your return, we are available to answer questions, assist with preparation, and ensure the experience goes as smoothly as possible. During the trip, there is always a Ubuntu representative to accompany and support the travelers.
What does responsible travel mean? It means traveling more consciously, promoting culture, and contributing to the economic growth and development of the region and comminity. It also involves respecting nature and minimizing negative impacts.
How are the solidarity activities organized? Each trip includes a solidarity activity, such as collecting and delivering essencial goods and school supplies to schools and institutions. Participants are invited to join in, but it´s completely optional.
Do the trips include volunteering? They may include small volunteering activities, but the trips are not exclusively for volunteering. The goal is to dedicate a few hours of our trip to these activities.
